Potty Training Workshop

03/21/2009 - 9:30am
03/21/2009 - 12:30pm

WHERE:  Wicker Park Fieldhouse, 1425 N. Damen Ave, "Garden room"

Lisa Blye, a Chicago-based early childhood expert, is pleased to announce a workshop for parents looking to make potty training stress-free and simple, "Practically Perfect Potty Training."  Ms. Blye, a graduate of DePaul with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education, has worked as a nanny, teacher, site director, and parent educator for almost twenty years.  She has personally potty trained 25 children and has created a potty training method that adheres to a centralized timeline of progress while acknowledging each child's unique development and needs.  Based on this successful history, the workshop will focus on both general and personalized information about potty training so that parents can successfully make empowered and educated decisions for their children. "Families often find potty-training to be confusing and frustrating," explains Ms. Blye, who is currently providing childcare services throughout Chicago.  "I would like parents to come away from this workshop feeling confident and enthused about being a teacher for their child during this crucial time."

WORKSHOP DETAILS: Class fee is $150, checks or money orders can be made out to "Lisa Blye".  Parents of both current potty trainees, as well as families with infants and toddlers are encouraged to attend.  Maximum of two adult attendees per family please. Please note that childcare will not be provided.  Pre-registry is encouraged, as space is limited to twelve participants.  Light snacks and beverages will be offered.  Street parking is available on Damen Ave, Wicker Park Ave, and the surrounding side streets.
